Hunter & Found
Privacy policy
[DRAFT FOR YOUR EDIT — accurate to how the site works today; review before launch and add your legal entity details.]
Who we are
Hunter & Found is a UK editorial publication at hunterandfound.co.uk. For anything in this policy, contact hello@hunterandfound.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address, when you asked to join, and when you confirmed. We use double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately. We never sell, rent or share the list.
Link measurement. When you click through to a retailer from our pages, we record that a click happened — which product, from which article — so we understand which of our recommendations are useful. This is first-party measurement on our own server; we do not use third-party advertising trackers, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies on this site.
Cookies. The site sets a cookie only to remember your display preference (paper or ink) and, for our own editors, a sign-in session. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by us.
Affiliate links and third parties
We are reader-funded through affiliate partnerships: when you buy through our links, the retailer or an affiliate network (such as Awin or Amazon) may pay us a commission at no cost to you. Once you leave our site, the retailer's own privacy policy applies — affiliate networks may use their own cookies on their own domains to attribute purchases. We disclose affiliate relationships on every page they appear.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — unsubscribing already removes you from any future sending, and a deletion request removes the record entirely. Email hello@hunterandfound.co.uk and we will act promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If how we handle data changes, this page changes first, with its updated date. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
